Despite the “No”, this image ended up being a “Yes”. Mariia’s expression appears to be one of consideration of the message painted on the wall, and leads the viewer to wonder what is the question.

Stella has a wonderful presence in front of the camera (she’s clearly lovely too) and exemplifies confidence in front of the camera. A photographer herself, she came up with some great ideas during our shoot that will no doubt appear here in the future 🙂

Anna defining fabulous in this outfit from @kinnaraval. The shop owner, Nicole, has an amazing knack for putting together great looks from the pieces she has in her shop near Serrano Tower. This nearby doorway made for a great setting to show off Anna and this look.

Sonia’s turn to work with the Red Chair. This Red Chair shot is part of a series of images I’m creating with this distressed, red, metal chair we have. The idea is we place it in different places in the city and the subject uses it as they see fit :). Not surprisingly, Sonia had several ideas, and this is one of my many favorites from our recent shoot.
Sonia’s a wonderful model and she also styled her outfit for this shoot. She’s such a treasure!

Karina and the Red Chair just chillin’ in the corner. This shot wasn’t planned, but as we were wrapping up our shoot, I decided we should do some shots back in this corner. In the past, I had done a shoot in this area and I recalled that this corner had some amazing character. As such, it was an easy choice to place Karina in this space and let her work her mood-setting magic.

Location: Dead-end alley near Torre de Quart
Single light is above and forward of the subject, placed to camera right as shown in the BTS image. This is a case where little to no edits had to be done to create the final image. The location, the light, and our amazing friend and model just simply worked, leaving me little to do in post. This is always my goal, to “get it right in camera” and not rely on post-production to create the final image. (Doesn’t happen as often as I’d want, though 🙂 )
On the same evening We shot the black roses images, Karina, Carmen and I worked on the second set of images for our “Red Chair” series. For Karina’s part in this series, she wore these leather pants and a jacket we purchased. She absolutely owned this space (and rocked the outfit) producing the perfect mood and feel for her part of the series.
