Sun Worship with Sophie

The incredible beauty that is Sophie Wester working her talent in front of my lens in Portugal. Getting to meet Sophie during Nancy Schoenmakers‘ fashion workshop last year led to her visiting us in Valencia for several days. Lovely Laugh

Our beautiful friend and model Bernice, caught mid-laugh during one of our “on the streets” shoots last year here in Valencia. I feel this shot really sums up who Bernice is. She’s obviously lovely, but she also brings a wonderful attitude and energy, you can see in that brilliant smile! Looking forward to next time, Bernice!!

Rocky Start, Lovely Finish

Yas was super patient with me when I asked her to climb up on these rocks on the beach at Malaga. I don’t think anyone along for the shoot was convinced there was something to shoot in this spot, but I pressed forward anyway. Turns out, most of the shots from this angle/location didn’t really work, but this one image stuck with me. I like the angle here as I’m tilting the “world” to match Yas’ position and making it fit to her rather than having her conform to the world. I think that fit’s Yas’ spirit and energy more accurately 🙂

Elegant Elena

Sometimes you don’t need anything more than light, a wall, and a lovely model like Elena. In this shot I didn’t see the need to chase the angle of light or create a blurred background. Elena simply leaned against the wall and immediately owned the space.

Timeless Alyona

I love the attitude Alyona is giving the camera in this shot from our shoot here in Valencia earlier this year. The black and white, the setting and wardrobe, and her classic beauty, give this image a timeless look. To me, it could have been taken months, or decades ago and either would be believable. 🙂

Stunning Sunrise
