There are so many beautiful doors one can find on the streets of Valencia, it’s like having a great selection of backdrops available just a short walk away. This one in particular made a fantastic frame in which to place Drue. She definitely steals attention from the aged and battered portal, but it definitely is an important part of the final image.

The lovely Drue Allred lighting up this space during our recent street shoot. A couple of days after our session with the red chair and her violin, we got together for an “on the streets” session. Drue has an amazing natural beauty and she’s very at ease in front of the camera. She actually had her violin with her (thanks Colin!) and we completely forgot to have her break it out and create some images with it on this morning. We’ll have to shoot with her again while she’s here to remedy that 🙂

This was the last image captured with @Drue Allred during our shoot on Sunday evening. With the lens wide open at 1.4, we were able to balance the softbox light to let the evening sun bring some light to the background. After seeing the result, I didn’t feel we needed to shoot any more that evening 🙂

Another favorite from my shoot Sunday evening with @Drue Allred. The red chair is here in a “supporting”role and was making its debut in this session (and will be appearing again in the future). Drue completely captivates in this shot with her wonderful connection to the camera here.
This scene was lit using a 35″ octabox with grid at camera right and a bare bulb strobe behind and to camera left of Drue. A slow 1/5th shutter speed was used to allow the ambient light to expose the background street and buildings.

So excited to share this image from my shoot yesterday evening with the lovely Drue Ence and her violin. This is also the first of my “Red Chair” series using a “distressed” red, metal chair we plan on using for sessions in the future. Drue is simply amazing in front of the camera and was well appreciated by the occupants of the surrounding buildings while she was playing. More to come from this shoot soon!
